remember
“Be still and know that I am God.”
Psalms 46:10 NIV
Everything God has said and done is for us to remember. But all too often, we forget. Take a few moments this morning to ponder His works and His ways— who is God to you right now?
As Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, the Lord pushed it back with a strong gust of wind turning the sea into a dry land. Suddenly a clear path unveiled before them and the Israelites went into the midst of the sea between the walls of water, escaping the dangers of Pharaoh and his army.
He makes a way where there is no way.
Joshua, fighting a battle where daylight was essential, boldly asked the Lord to make the sun stand still — God answered his prayer and Israel won the battle. He makes the impossible possible.
Our Almighty God. The great I Am. The Lord of Lords who hears our cries and is faithful to answer. The King of Kings who has sustained us and redeemed our souls. Our healer, our savior, our Father, our friend. His marvelous works are for us to declare over whatever we are facing. Let us thank Him and praise Him for rescuing us and giving us all of the blessing and opportunity we have had. God is our refuge and our strength.
Do not be afraid, stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. (Ex 14:13)
Be still, Beloved.
Be still.
Be still before the unknown.
Be still before the uncertainty.
Be still amidst the chaos.
And remember that He is God.
The Father is here with you. Surrender your fears, name your prayers and then rest.
He will carry you through. He will establish your steps.

smartphone reminders
Set an alert for multiple points during the day— when the notification pops up, take one minute to either pray or read Scripture. You could even put a verse in your alert; some good ones are Matthew 22:37; Matthew 22:39; Romans 8:5–6; Romans 12:1–2; Galatians 5:16; Philippians 4:6–8; Colossians 3:1–2; 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18; or Hebrews 12:1–2.
