What began as a simple weekly devotional has grown into a ministry dedicated to discipleship, spiritual formation, and equipping women to faithfully follow Jesus wherever he calls them.

Only one thing is necessary..


  • Rooted in Jesus' invitation to "abide in me" (John 15), Abide provides biblical teaching, practical resources, and intentional spaces where women can deepen their understanding of Scripture, grow in spiritual maturity, and be equipped to teach and live out God's Word with confidence and humility.



    Teaching Cohorts

    Seasonal, focused cohorts designed to help women grow in specific areas of biblical knowledge and ministry. Each cohort has a clear theme, a set timeframe, and practical application.

    Coming This Fall:

    • The Abide Teaching Cohort: a six-session experience equipping women to faithfully teach the Word of God with confidence, conviction, and care.

    • Abide Community Cohort: Formation for everyday faithfulness. This cohort is for women who want to abide in Christ through scripture, prayer and honest community.

    Speaking

    Biblical teaching for churches, retreats, conferences, and special events. Messages are rooted in Scripture and designed to encourage women toward deeper faithfulness to Christ.

    The Vine: An Abide Retreat
    A 3-day retreat designed to help you slow down, reconnect, and deepen your relationship with God—through guided worship, study, prayer and time to simply be.

    • We believe in one God displayed in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

    • We believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord and Savior.

    • We believe he was born of a virgin, was crucified, died, and was buried; and rose from the dead, making a way for us to have a new life.

    • We believe our salvation is by grace through faith in Him alone.

    • We believe people are created in the image of God to worship and glorify God.

    • We believe in the sacred covenant of marriage between a man and a woman.

    • We believe in the presence of the Holy Spirit, who empowers the Christian life and makes the gospel livable and practical.

    • We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, the true story of the entire world.

    • We believe Jesus will return one day and will end all sin, suffering , evil and brokenness.

    • We believe he will judge the living and the dead and all those who put their trust in Jesus’ life, death and resurrection will enjoy being with God forever.

meet the founder

I’m Makenzi—a preacher and Bible teacher from Seattle, WA, with roots in both New York and Los Angeles. In 2020, I founded Abide, a ministry to help women know Christ more deeply by abiding in His Word.

I received my Master's in Biblical Studies from Reformed Theological Seminary and regularly preach, teach the Bible, and lead retreats in both church and para-church settings. I currently serve on the pastoral staff at Vintage Church Pasadena, helping people delight in God's Word and faithfully follow Jesus in the ordinary rhythms of life.

At the same time, we create space for women to be vulnerable, encouraged, and supported throughout their faith journeys.
