What began as a simple weekly devotional has grown into a ministry dedicated to discipleship, spiritual formation, and equipping women to faithfully follow Jesus wherever he calls them.

Only one thing is necessary..


  • Rooted in Jesus' invitation to "abide in me" (John 15), Abide provides biblical teaching, practical resources, and intentional spaces where women can deepen their understanding of Scripture, grow in spiritual maturity, and be equipped to teach and live out God's Word with confidence and humility.

meet the founder

I’m Makenzi—a preacher and Bible teacher living in Brooklyn. In 2020, I founded Abide, a ministry to help women know Christ more deeply by abiding in His Word.

I received my Master's in Biblical Studies from Reformed Theological Seminary and regularly preach, teach the Bible, and write A Pilgrim Passing Through: reflections on abiding in Christ through the mystery of faith. I currently serve on the pastoral staff at Vintage Church Pasadena, helping people delight in God's Word and faithfully follow Jesus in the ordinary rhythms of life.

  • Abide is a community inspired to encourage a life of undisturbed union with Christ; a life that blossoms growth and the fruit of the Spirit. Our focus is not only to provide biblical knowledge but also to foster meaningful community among women. We emphasize teaching how to read and understand Scripture, personal spiritual growth, and deepening one's relationship with Christ. At the same time, we create space for women to be vulnerable, encouraged, and supported throughout their faith journeys.
