“Set your mind on things above, not on earthly things.”
Colossians 3:2 NIV
What is your mind set on today?
If we set our minds on the Spirit, our lives will be controlled by the Spirit.
Take time to notice your thoughts, taking captive those not of Christ and replace them with things worthy of praise.
The enemy wants us to become ongoing agents to our distress; he wants us to set our minds on everything we can’t control. Ignore the voice of hopelessness — it is not God. God speaks lovingly towards you, in grace and mercy, edifying you and reminding you of all He has brought you through and all that is to come. Listen for the voice saying, “Keep going, I’m with you”. “Rise up, you can trust Me.”
Allow God to inject hope into your heart, your relationships and community. Your circumstances are not measured against your own strength; they are measured against the strength of God whose Spirit lives within you.
Anchor yourself in prayer, fixing your mind on whatever is true, honorable, lovely and worth respect. (Phil 4:8) He has given you a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind fully equipped to love Him and love others as you love yourself.
centering prayer
Father, I thank you that there is no fear in Your love. Thank you for giving me a sound mind that has the ability to work for me and not against me. Thank you for Your heavenly wisdom. Help me to be a light in this dark world. To fix my eyes on Your ways and lead others into Your truth. Amen.
