radiance
“I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces will never be ashamed.”
Psalm 34:4-5 ESV
Radiance is not about how we look, but a reminder to ourselves and a signal to others of where we are looking towards.
Praise God that every time we turn our gaze back to Him, His light shines on us, bringing us out from the shadows and removing our shame.
In these moments, radiance is a reflection of the love, grace, and joy we experience in the presence of God. And a reflection of the hope and forgiveness that washes over us when we put our faith in Jesus.
Radiance is not about how we look, but a reminder to ourselves and a signal to others of where we are looking towards.
Coupled with Matthew 5:14, it becomes clear that this radiance is not just for us. But, when we allow ourselves to be led by the Lord, we step into obedience and become the light of the world - a beacon of hope for others.
In life, we are joined by family, friends, and onlookers - believers and not-yet believers - who bear witness to our pain. When we walk through difficult seasons with firm faith in the Lord, we have the opportunity to glorify Him along the way. And those who are privy to our circumstances can grow their faith when we share where our peace, strength, and joy have come from through it all.
What a blessing it is to serve the Lord, who not only gives light to our circumstances, but uses our obedience to spread hope to those around us. This week, I hope you are encouraged to bask in the radiance of God and share His goodness with others who might just be wondering how you’ve made it through.
With so much love,
Sarah Manzinger

centering prayer:
Lord, Thank you that you are our light and our strength. Thank you that when we seek you, your light is not only for us in our circumstances, but for all of those who walk through life with us. May your light shine upon us in good times and bad and be a testament of your unfailing love and mercy. Amen.
