“And he said to me, ‘Son of man, go to the house of Israel and speak with my words to them’…Moreover, he said to me, ‘Son of man, all my words that I shall speak to you receive in your heart, and hear with your ears’.”
Ezekiel 3:4,10 ESV
Let us read, recognize, and remember the printed words of our loving God. He is worth it. His Word is worth it.
God is a God who speaks. How do you know what is on one’s mind? Through the words which comes up and out through their mouth. What is one way in which one can recognize someone’s voice? Through writing. His Word is invaluable. Do you recognize it? Have you seen its power? His power.
In the times of today, we have forgotten God’s voice. We have supplemented the vessels he chooses for His own voice, The Word. The Bible. The inerrant and the reverent truth. He is the one who made man’s mouth, so why should we run to whom He created and not Himself? Have you been in your Word lately? Have you guarded yourself against the millions of voices today? Where has your head been? Where has your peace been?
God told Ezekiel to first hear and receive the Word for himself. Before he was to speak on behalf of God to the Israelites in Exile, and utter a peep, Ezekiel was to receive the Word of the Lord. God is such a caring Father that He wants you to hear Him for yourself, see for yourself, and receive for yourself. What an invitation. Do you hear how intimate He is? Do you hear the gentleness and tenderness as He speaks slowly to you?
While we hang unto every word. Let our time with God look like this. For his Word to deepen and permeate our souls. Will we allow Him to? To let His voice, stand above the times of today. To let His voice, resound higher than the economy or our situation. Let His praises remain on our lips.
Let us read, recognize, and remember the printed words of our loving God. He is worth it. His Word is worth it.
So, receive His gift of the Truth. Receive His words spoken to, over, and for you.
I love you, but He loves you more,

centering prayer:
Lord, we thank you for your Word. We thank you for the freedom to read, and worship you freely. We thank you that you have cared for us enough to know we needed something written down to know and encounter you. To have something of reference when we forget your goodness and faithfulness. Thank you Jesus. We love you with all we have. amen.
