“You are my sheep, the sheep of my pasture, and I am your God, declares the Sovereign Lord.”
Ezekiel 34:31 NIV
Stay the course. Trust the journey.
Ezekiel 34 offers the most loving assurance that God is sovereign. Those who commit to him do not have to fear, for he is the Great Shepherd tending so intimately and personally to his people. He comforts our broken hearts, rescues us from trouble, looks after our needs and rekindles our strength.
Though you cannot see the road ahead or know for certain where it will end, the Lord has come to lead you on a good path. He goes before you, preparing and guiding every step along the way; goodness and mercy as your greatest companions.
At times, it may feel like you’re the only one making sacrifices, it hurts to live in a world that is broken by sin. But there’s a love that laid His life down for you offering unconditional grace (Jn 10:11).
No matter what you face today, tomorrow or a year from now, know this: who you are in Christ is your refuge, identity and home.
As you trust in a good God to provide for you, the mental chatter of insecurity, fear, and worry will subside allowing you to breathe again. Center your heart around the promise of the Gospel. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we wait for the fullness of God’s kingdom to come to earth where all who believe will dwell in His house forever (Ps 23:6).
“I will make a covenant of peace with them and rid the land of savage beasts so that they may live in the wilderness and sleep in the forests in safety. I will make them and the places surrounding my hill a blessing. I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing. The trees will yield their fruit and the ground will yield its crops; the people will be secure in their land. They will know that I am the Lord, when I break the bars of their yoke and rescue them from the hands of those who enslaved them.” Ezekiel 34:25:27 NIV
