time
“But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”
2 Peter 3:8 ESV
Our Lord is not rushed. He is not on our time schedule. His ways are not our ways and His time is not our time.
Did you know that the Lord is not surprised? He is not unaware. He is not forgetful. He isn’t panicking. He isn’t distracted. He isn’t trying to think of Plan B, or C, because A didn’t work out. Our Lord is not rushed. He is not on our time schedule. If anything, he is patient and slow to anger (Ps 145:8-9). His ways are not our ways (Is 55:8-9) and His time is not our time (Pet 3:8). Will you allow that to sink in deeper? Will you allow this revelation to permeate throughout your days?
He knew you when you were in your mothers womb (Jer. 1:5). He created you and ordered your steps before the foundation of the Earth because He and He alone is good (Eph 2:20; Ps 37:23-24; Eph 1:4) . Knew is past tense. Ordered is past tense. How great is it to know that our Father, our King, our Lord already knows (Rev 1:8; Isa 46:10). We may be shocked. We may be surprised. We may not have seen that coming, but He did. In fact he included it in the grand plan (Ps 139:4; Job 23:10)! He is not surprised.
So be of good courage (Jo 1:9). Dust yourself off. The enemy doesn’t get to condemn you for any mistakes whether past, present or future. Our God took care of it on the day of Calvary! Hallelujah. Receive your daily bread. Take and savor every good bite of it. Do not worry about tomorrow because tomorrow will care for itself.
With peace,
Ashley

reflect:
Where is God inviting you to be patient? Where might your expectations be resisting His timing? Who told you that? How would your day-to-day look if you align yourself with the God-given pace of your life?
centering prayer:
Abba, you know my ways. Your plans are to prosper me and not to harm me. You are and have always been a good Father to me. You are faithful. You are intelligent. You are wise. You know exactly what is needed in this season, and all the days of my life. I repent for not trusting you. Help me to trust you Lord. Remind me and give me an understanding of who you are. As I ask questions, you will be faithful to answer them in how you see fit. I love you. Amen.
