“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.”

Romans 8:1-2 NIV

Christians are not those who do not struggle, but rather they are those who stay in the fight.

The key is to remain steadfast, looking with eyes of faith to the One who accomplished everything in our place.

Guilt and shame have been canceled, friend. Continue to rely on the teachings of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit to align your actions and thoughts with who God is calling you to be. (He 2:1) We do this not through avoidance, but through confession and surrender, cherishing the forgiveness we have received and carrying that truth into the situation we are facing.

God has promised to instruct you in the way to go; to counsel you with his loving eye on you. Don’t be like the horse who is led to water and refuses to drink. Repent and run to God and receive his living water of protection, divine direction and joy! (Ps 32:8-10)

Though our flesh and spirit wage war within us, it is the Spirit who helps us in our weakness and gives us the power to live for Jesus everyday. (Ro 8:5) It is the Spirit that empowers us to bring glory to God and help build his kingdom. God’s power is made perfect through our weakness, not because we are weak minded individuals, rather so no one can boast in anything other than the cross by which we have been redeemed. (2 Cor 12:7-9)

You are not a failure. You are dependent. Dependent on the only One powerful enough to help you. May this truth lead us to compassion for our brothers and sisters who disappoint us and hurt us and implore us to pray for those in desperate need of his mercy.

LORD, thank you that there is nothing that can separate me from Your love. Help me to walk freely in the victory You have given me.
