“Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.”
Jude 1:21 NIV
We may not know the future, but we know the God who does— Yahweh, our only Savior, who alone is wise. Let us fight with everything we have to keep the faith entrusted to us to guard and cherish.
Oswald Chambers wrote, “faith is not some weak and pitiful emotion, but is a strong and vigorous confidence built on the fact that God is holy love. And even though you cannot see Him right now and cannot understand what He is doing, you know Him.”
Building ourselves up in the faith is the greatest effort of our life with God. To be faithful even when everything falls apart. To throw ourselves in complete abandonment of what was in order to receive what now is. Don’t give fear the final say, we may need to adjust our strategy, but the weight of when and how is not for us to carry— remember Jesus said, it is not for us to know the times or dates the Father has set by His own authority. But we will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on us; and we will be His witnesses to the ends of the earth. (Acts 1: 7-8)
Go in the strength of the Lord today. Let us cling to every good thing, growing in the grace and knowledge of Christ. Allow space for the Holy Spirit to rise up, strengthen you and guide you, for we have been given authority to bring good news to the poor, comfort the broken hearted, and care for the needs of those who mourn— Jesus is the hope of the world! (Is 61:1-3)
In the end of days only this shall remain:
The way we loved God and the way we loved others.
As you wait for His mercy, remain in His holy love.
centering prayer
LORD, I know your grace is enough to get me through this day.
