ask
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
Matthew 7:7-8 NIV
Nevertheless, the only way to make it through is to let God sustain you.
More than a quick fix, one-time healing, Jesus wants to develop in us a hope that will sustain. When the odds are stacked against us, yet we choose to move forward— there’s a deep courageous faith sown into our hearts.
There is no scriptural assurance that we will receive all the health and wealth in the world nor that our lives will be free of problems. However, it’s been promised that if we pray for God’s will, which includes our spiritual growth, He will faithfully answer.
1 John 5:14 says, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” When we approach God on the basis of His goodness and mercy, not based on what we want and think we should have, it brings our focus back to His will.
God redeems. Nothing is ever lost or wasted. He can and will always work all things together for our good. Keep asking. Keep praying. Keep showing up. The seeking process is a maturing process, a sifting process and it can be frustrating, but “blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.” (Mt 5:6)
Though it hurts to lay things we desperately want at His feet, trust that your persistence is doing a mighty work in your heart and spirit. Each time you lay the burden down, you’ll walk away stronger, wiser, with faith to believe in what you cannot see.
Your Father in heaven is not holding out on you. He wants to give you hope and confidence in who He is!
Enter His presence with assurance and deep gratitude as He richly comforts you, guides you and empowers you to live by faith. (Heb 4:16)
