walk

“And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.”

Isaiah 30:21 ESV

God responds to a surrendered heart.

It has been said ‘God will never give us anything we can’t handle,’ however, Scripture seems to express otherwise. While we will never be tempted beyond what we can bear (1 Cor 10:13), God will absolutely create weakness in our life through trials and tribulations in order to cultivate dependence on Him (2 Cor 12:9).

Our calling will often be greater than our natural capability. God will ask things of us that are difficult. He may require us to let go of things we’re not ready to. But those who look to Christ above all else will hear a word behind them saying, this is the way, walk in it.

The nation of Israel continually broke their covenant with God—they were defiant and ignored the lessons God attempted to teach them. Despite their reluctance, God would continue to remind them of their unbreakable relationship. Only God can give us what we are searching for. He is the only one who can forgive us, heal our wounds, and keep us on the path of righteousness.(Ps 103:2-5). All that is required is our willingness to return to him, quietly trusting in his power to deliver us (Is 30:15).

Apart from Christ we can do nothing (Jn 15:5). Apart from Christ we will always fall short. But God never fails. He works all things together for His glory and our good. Every closed door, every trial are hidden blessings for our eternal benefit revealing God’s providential care over every step we take.

Leave, with quiet trust, everything in His hands, today. Trust in His sufficient strength. Walk forward in full faith, listening for His voice to lead you and guide you.

Grace be yours in abundance,
Makenzi
